Kale salad with apple, bacon, cranberries and nuts

In my fridge, I had a pre-chopped kale salad mix with green and red cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. I felt like creating a sweet, salty and smoky salad.

I created this salad, that I personally find so delightful. I made it a couple times and it paired really well with a steak on the BBQ or even with a burger on the grill. #ILoveEverythingBBQ

Salade de kale aux pommes, bacon, canneberges et noix

Ingredients

For the salad

2 cups of pre-chopped kale salad mix
with green and red cabbage, broccoli,
cauliflower and Brussel sprouts.
1 apple, diced
1/2 cup of dried cranberry
1/4 cup of walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup of sliced almonds
1/4 cup of pre-cooked bacon, crumbled

For the salad dressing

1 tbsp. maple syrup (to taste)
1 tbsp. mayonnaise
1/2 tbsp. sour cream 15%
1/2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/4 tbsp. avocado oil (or olive oil)
1 tsp. lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a salad bowl, add all the ingredients « FOR THE SALAD ».
  2. In a small bowl, add all the ingredients « FOR THE SALAD DRESSING » and mix until well combined.
  3. Add the salad dressing to the salad and mix well.
  4. Serve cold!
