The first ever ramen bar in North Vancouver has just opened! A few weeks ago, I had the chance to experience this brand-new restaurant located on the edge of Vancouver; Hachiro Ramen Bar.

The moment you step foot into this restaurant, you literally feel transported to a modern Japanese bar. At first by its decor and its long bar that turns into a shared table, which I loved.

The evening began with a delicious Japanese inspired Aperol Spritz made with sake, which won me over! It continued with the tasting of several dishes, including a few starters such as the “Chicken Kaarage”, my favorite. Made of super tender pieces of fried chicken thighs, slightly sweet and topped with a drizzle of Yuzu mayonnaise. I also “cracked” #lol for the crispy rice balls with pork at its center the “Crispy chasu pork and rice nigiri”. Definitely a dish you need to order on your next visit.

Then came the time to taste the ramens! Yes, this long-awaited moment (not so long actually 😉 )! Al dente ramen noodles were served in the perfect amount of creamy Tonkotsu miso broth. Like a really good broth, I still think about it. Haha!

The bowl of “Miso Ramen” is garnished with two super tender and lightly grilled Chashu pork slices, as well as mushrooms, and corn.

In addition to the more than delicious meals, we loved the atmosphere and even more the story that led to the creation of the restaurant Hachiro Ramen Bar.

The restaurant is among others run by a brother and a sister. Being sisters ourselves, we love to encourage other family-run companies! 😉#sistersblogger
